The Transsylvania Nostra Journal is a scientific periodical specialised in the field of built heritage conservation, issued trimestrially, ISSN 1842-5631 (print version), ISSN-L 1842-5631, ISSN 2344-5084 (on-line version). The journal is indexed in the international database of the ICOMOS Documentation Centre: http://databases.unesco.org/icomos/
The editor, Transsylvania Nostra Foundation (TNF), has been issuing the journal regularly till 2007. Since we have received acknowledgment from internationally recognized specialists, we have continued with publishing articles in Romanian, Hungarian or German (depending on the original language) and their translation in English. This aspect has offered our publication not only regional or national, but also international character, and so far it is the only multilingual journal in the field of built heritage conservation in Romania.
Each issue of the journal containing a collection of scientific materials, results of research, conservation and rehabilitation works done by renowned specialists. The articles are focused on one of the most important fields of cultural heritage that contains inestimable material, aesthetic and spiritual values: the ensemble of the built culture. Nowadays, to be able to respect and to pass on this rich heritage, one essential condition is to know and understand it. This is why the articles of the journal contain and treat all the aspects that are linked to built heritage protection, such as technical issues, several archaeological discoveries and components with high artistic value, this way maintaining its image characterized by great thematic diversity.
The scientific journal was scored as B category by the National Council for Scientific Research (CNCS). Furthermore the editorial office received an appreciative letter about the decision of indexing the journal in SCOPUS international database at the beginning of 2014. Beside drawing attention on the fact that there is still a lot of work in front of us, the letter speaks in flattering terms about the journal: "this is a significant and fascinating journal with an impressive review policy."
ATTENTION! The articles from this website are the properties of the Transsylvania Nostra Foundation and they are protected by the Romanian Copyright Law no. 8/1996. The content of every article can be taken over on the limit of 300 words and only with quoting the sourse (link) to the address of the original article.
