Résumé:
This article presents the general occurrence of biological agents (fungi and insects) responsible for timber decay at historic monuments and open air museums in Romania. The data herein are collected as a result of the authors’ experience of over 30 years in the field of historic monuments investigation. Short descriptions of the main species of fungi and insects that were identified will be presented, along with comments regarding the construction elements where they appear predominantly and the context leading to their installation.
