means new phenomenon within professional circles.

Important historical changes are always accompanied by paradigm shifts. Great cataclysms shake the foundations of thought and perception; they change the emphatic points of our world view. Such was the gain in popularity of modernism after World War I in almost all branches of the arts, thus in architecture as well.
