Résumé:
The article presents the process and solutions of the conservation works carried out on the Unitarian episcopal residency in Cluj-Napoca, through which after many centuries of use as a private residence, the house will serve as a community area in the future. The building with mediaeval origins and transformed several times throughout the centuries presented a challenge for the researchers, designers, and contractors alike, which arose partly through the functional requirements defined by the owner and partly via the professional-ethical requirements ensuing from the house’s status as a historic building. Following an overview of the house’s history and condition prior to the intervention, the article presents the solutions applied at certain distinct parts of the building.
