Rezümé:
On June 11, 2008, a fire broke out, destroying the tower and a part of the roof over the nave of the Lutheran Church A. C. in Bistriţa. The estimated damage amounts to one million EUR. Irreplaceable, extremely valuable cultural and historic heritage values vanished in the midst of the flames: two church bells, the small and the big one, the church clock, the oak bell frame, the tower roof structure, the spire ornaments, a part of the nave roof structure, built in 1561, which is among the few authentic Gothic roof structures in the country. The thermal shock aggravated the degradation of stone elements, which underwent chemical and physical transformations affecting their resistance and stability. The present paper includes the new fire safety regulations for religious monuments, issued in 2009, following the fires in 2008. These new regulations are quite detailed,
straightforward and shed light over the organization of the implementation works and fire protection, with a special focus on historic buildings.
