On June 11, 2008, the tower of the Lutheran Church A. C. in Bistriţa was destroyed during a fire which also extended to a part of the church nave. The emergency intervention measures started on June 12, 2008, comprising actions such as: removal of debris resulted in the fire, safety measures for the church prior to carrying out the interventions, drafting and approval of emergency intervention documentation, respectively undertaking these emergency interventions. The emergency intervention scheduled works at the church tower (reconstruction of the roof structure, roof covering, lightning arrester, bells, installing dry-pipe systems for fire control), respectively, at the nave and choir (restoration of the roof structure and slabs, reconstruction of the roof covering). The authors of this article, who acted as technical expert and, respectively, as project manager, co-ordinated the team responsible for the drafting of the emergency intervention concept1 and ensured technical support throughout the stages of the project2.
