Heritage is subject to different threats. Precaution measures are taken according to each country’s level of civilisation. The preoccupation for heritage conservation has its origin in Western European culture. It may be the consequence of a kind of pragmatism adapted to the mentalities of a society that uses the public space extensively. Romania adopted all the important international conventions on heritage conservation. But even after becoming a member of the European Union, this takeover seems to be purely formal.
