Rezümé:
The basic principle of statue conservation is to abide by all original historical, aesthetic and ethical values, by rendering the aspect and the artistic details that the statue composition initially had. Nonetheless, the practical conservation solutions are primarily conditioned by studies and research results on the state of the main materials forming the works of art. This affirmation is valid in the case of Matthias I sculptural group as well, where the stone and the bronze were superposed as pedestal and characters.
