Rezumat:
The present article is the preliminary load-bearing structural assessment of the Matthias I Sculptural Group's pediment, which was erected in 1902 in the Main Square of Cluj-Napoca. The load-bearing structural assessment was compiled on the basis of the building biology, physics and soil mechanics studies. It enumerates the elemental degradations and sets out solutions for their repair. Important elements of the recommendations are the necessity of immediate intervention works and ensuring permanent maintenance after conservation.
